How is Corinne handling it?
That is the question I think I get the most. Even more than (how are YOU handling it?) Which I think is far more important myself. ANYWAY, let me just say, Corinne LOVES her brother. It's weird. I have known about him coming for about 10 months or so, and I'm his mom, so it comes so naturally for me to love him. What I didn't know until now, is that it also comes naturally for Corinne to love him. Don't get me wrong, she has done some experimenting (sticking fingers in his mouth, eyes, everywhere, biting him to see what would happen, trying to pick him up, etc.) and she has definately gotten mad and jealous that he is around to ruin her little world she thought she was in charge of. But other than that, she really LOVES him. She even tells me sometimes, "mom, I just love my baby brother." That's what she calls him, "baby brother," she knows he has a name and she does know it, but she almost NEVER calls him Shane. I don't know, but I think that's all right....

I get asked the same thing. I guess people assume that if the older child is handling it well, then everything is peachy-keen. It sure does help, but sometimes it's still craziness.
ReplyDeleteOh My! I just love all the updates and all the pictures. What an adorable family. I am really sad (and really sorry!) that we didn't get to visit with you during our trip to Utah. Everything was such a whirlwind that we didn't get to see any of our dear friends. It would've been so fun to let our so-close-in-age kids play.
